Budapest

Three nights in Budapest! When we were planning our trip, I saw photos of Budapest and said “we should to go there, it looks so pretty” – it was! Air BnB has made it so affordable for us to stay in such great locations. We had a lovely view from our room to the river, which is especially nice in the evenings and it was a 2 minute skip, jump, and hop to the beautiful Parliament building.

Spotted late night after our spa session | I am in love with buildings that have plants creeping up their exterior.

While there was rain on our first day of exploration, this didn’t stop us. We enjoyed The Great Market Hall, cafes in the Jewish quarter and thermal spas. Good food = good mood!

The following day was a complete change in weather (yay!) We went on a walk up Gellert Hill, visited the House of Terror Museum, and caught Samuel L. Jackson speaking perfect Hungarian in Shaft, on a rooftop cinema! IMG_8592IMG_8598IMG_8597IMG_8589IMG_8539

Maybe its a good thing we had to move on, I was developing a serious “langos” addiction (Hungarion deep fried dough with sour cream and toppings), also, their home made lemonade was unreal for my sour loving taste buds. Francis shares photographs of what we ate, here!

Now, we have 10 days to get to Greece. Our plan is to trickle down Croatia and Albania (such Rick Stein copycats). Stay tuned…
