The monasteries in Meteora were wonderful to experience on foot. We followed some ancient trails used by the monks, which lead us to walk amongst the boulders, hills and pillars. We only had a stop over in Athens before we caught the overnight Ferry to Lesvos, however it was a good 7 hour stop, so we made the most of it and got to see the beautiful Acropolis…and eat!
